Faithful and Full of Faith

In the days that we live in, how can we make a difference on a world scale that will impact nations? I believe that the book of Daniel offers some keys to world impacting faith that begins with some very simple but profound truths.

So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no charge or fault because he was faithful, nor was there any error or fault found in him.
(Dan. 6:4)

Daniel as a young man was taken from every godly support system he had known and was thrust into a secular worldly culture that demanded that he conform and act like them.

Daniel said no. Even as a teenager with the opportunity to “Let His Hair Down” and get wild for once, he had ingrained in him such a respect for God and His law, that he “purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself” (Dan. 1:8).

In other words, he remained faithful to his God in spite of the social climate around him, and this in turn, gave him great faith to stand in tough times.

Most of the time when we think about the word faithful, we define it as being true to another, not breaking a promise, or not giving our heart or attention to another.

When you look at the Word faithful though, it reads faith-ful. Jesus asked His disciples, when He returns will He find faith in the earth? God wants His people to be full of faith in these last days, and that starts with being faithful.

Here are some areas to cultivate faithfulness every day:

  1. Reading God’s Word
  2. Prayer
  3. Taking care of your temple-body, including:
    • What you eat
    • Getting exercise
  4. Guarding your heart and mind, including:
    • What you watch
    • What you hear
    • Where you go
  5. Watching what you say

Daniel was faithful in the smallest ways—even effecting what he would and would not allow into his mouth. He saw eating the wrong things as a violation of what God had for his destiny.

His faithfulness caused him to be true to God and true to himself, and became a powerful character quality in his life. Because he was so strong in his personal convictions, it made him someone who could be trusted to tell the truth, to have faith in, and to call upon when there was a conflict.

If you want an excellent spirit in you that will make you valuable to God and others, and make God’s wisdom accessible to you, then cultivating faithfulness in the smallest things will build the strength in you to stand through the big challenges of life. God wants to build character in you, so you won’t be “a character” (Dan. 5:11-14).

The Lord of Heaven wants to bring you into promotion, open doors of leadership and have you stand before kingdoms and declare God’s greatness. Cultivating faithfulness in your life puts you in position to receive God’s faithfulness to you in meeting your needs and brings protection from the attacks of the enemy (Dan. 6).

God’s attitude towards faithfulness is expressed this way in Psalm 101:

My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land that they may dwell with me; He that walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me.
(Ps. 101:6)

Faithfulness to God produces a heart that is full of faith towards Him no matter what the circumstances.
