Fix Your Hope On Jesus

by Tim Davidson | Uncategorized

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

(1 Peter 1:13 NASB)

This verse says we are to prepare our thought life properly. Make your minds ready, and keep on the watch. Be attentive and think straight. Put your mind on God things and you will be ready for action. Take things seriously enough to do some good with the instructions that God provides for you through Jesus Christ.

The Message Bible says: “So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives.”

On what basis do we hope to attain God’s blessing? Do we trust in good works and benevolent behavior? What is it we are to be hoping for? Grace is God’s divine influence that affects our heart. We are saved by it. We grow as a Christian by it.

We will receive even more of it when Jesus comes back again. But don’t wait. Grace working in us now is our true hope for victorious Christian living. If you hope for anything, hope that God will always have His way in you.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am ready. I have my mind in gear and my hope fixed on Jesus my Savior.
