Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus the Anointed One! Praise the Lord! Great things are happening in Japan and it is clearly the tip of the iceberg.
At our monthly Victory Dinner meetings we have been following the subject of rich relationships. We’ve covered the differences between the way men and women think and do things We’ve also studied what God’s Word says about how to deepen relationships with others. Last night we talked about the power of forgiveness.
On the second and fourth Wednesday of the month we have the Christian Business Group (CBG) meetings in Tokyo. This CBG meeting of business people (folks who can escape from their offices at lunchtime) is a hour and a half lunch.
The people share a meal while building relationships with other Japanese and international business people in the Tokyo area. It is a great time for these professionals to challenge the way they think.
Even more, it is a time for people to be encouraged to do the works of God (John 6:29) right where they are at in the office, home, and even the train.
Probably the most exciting ministry to my wife,Mariko and myself is the Saturday VWC worship service in the neighborhood. Everyone is promoting Victory Kids pretty well and we have some twenty kids showing up every week.
The kids enjoy the meetings so much and talk about this “Sunday school” on Saturday a lot with their parents. Kids are at our rental facility one hour before we even start waiting for us when we arrive to set up.
One father said that his daughter loved Victory Kids so much that he could not get her to stop talking about it. He does not know God yet so it is neat that the children are bringing their parents to church.
From mid-August we will begin heavily promoting the adult service too. There are seven or eight of us most weeks but we will expand that. We are praying for wisdom and divine appointments so that everyone at Victory can meet people and be a part of bringing them into the kingdom.
We have also started giving people the opportunity to bring their tithes and offerings into God’s house. This is really important so that people so they can tap into the blessings that God has for them. This year it will be a great chance for everyone to be a part of getting our own facilities. We will further expand the reach of Victory’s ministry to our area and Japan.
In Japan, the majority of the churches are less than 30 people and they are mostly old folks. Many people don’t tithe and you can tell. I cannot even count the times that someone has come to me asking me to agree with them for a financial miracle.
I usually ask if they are consistently tithing and the answer is always that they do not give to the Lord first. At Victory Word Center, our strength is that we are a church of givers. As we give, it will be given back to us (Luke 6:38). We will stand with everyone that is consistently giving. We will not only see financial miracles but we will see:
- People get promotions and better jobs
- People will get salary increases even when they don’t expect it.
- Sales people close major business deals not just once but continuously.
- Great success in everything these givers do.
It is so exciting just to think of it. I know because that is exactly what we have been experiencing personally as we have been faithful givers. More than we could ever ask for or expect. Hallelujah!
As people are personally consistent in their giving, the church can be consistent in winning people into the kingdom and discipling them. No more tricks from the enemy.
We are givers and making a difference with our actions and our sustenance. The church in Japan is strong and that starts with our church, Victory Word Center.
Where do we go from here?
From here we see that God is planning great things. We are believing God and we know that by the power of His WORD great things will happen in Koshigaya through this church and it’s ministry.
- Victory will have a powerful Worship Band. People will come from all around to worship the Lord at VWC and get a strong sense of His presence. I expect we’ll even
put out CD. - The uncompromised Word of God preached will draw families, students, kids, and even older folks into a REAL relationship with God.
- Families will accept Jesus as their Savior and be changed, strengthened, and will positively impact the community.
- Victory will get our own facility that we can meet at, encourage people, have another mid-week service and call our own.
- VWC will have many ministries reaching out to the community and surrounding areas and Tokyo and that people will be drawn to the Word.
