“The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way” (Ps. 25:9 KJV).
Leadership requires the fruit of meekness, because you can’t always cut folk’s head off because they didn’t do it right. I learned a long time ago that you have to give people enough time to change. Give them time to get better. Give them time to get before God. Exercise some mercy towards them. Sit down and talk with them in a way that is befitting to them. Give them time, because God sure gave you time.
Gentleness and meekness operate together. It is the kind of stuff that divides the men from the boys, and the women from the girls. Typically, you don’t understand half the things that happen in life. You don’t understand half the reasons why people do what they do. What do you do then?
Because you don’t always have an understanding about it, Satan will come along and try to hype us up in the flesh, to get us to fight one another. Understand that you only know your side of it, and your side is limited. Satan plays on that.
The world is looking for something different than the way they operate. They’re looking for somebody that knows how to flow with whatever the situation is. Somebody who has spiritual maturity and growth.
Real spiritual maturity means that you know how to shift gears into whatever fruit is necessary. You can download love if you need to do that. You can jump over into joy if necessary. You can shift down into gentleness if you need that. You can shift over into the fruit of faith if you need that.
You know how to get before God by the Holy Spirit to find in what gear the Holy Spirit is telling you to go. He said if you will follow the leading of the Spirit, you won’t be caught in the lust of the flesh. Then you will beat the devil every time.
The text says that God will guide and teach us this way. Now how valuable is it for God to be your personal instructor? God will teach you His way, and His ways of doing things always produce love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. And it also produces prosperity, healing, joy, victory, etc. Let God teach you in everything you do.
