God Wants to be Found

by | Uncategorized

Why is it important for you to read the Word of God? Because a very important thing happens—you will be transformed by the renewing of your mind and thereby you will not be conformed to this world!

You will be able to prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Rom. 12:2). You will KNOW IT!

How do you start thinking God’s way and doing things God’s way? By spending intimate, quality time with Him in prayer.

Hey I want to see the power gifts in manifestation in our youth services. I want to see the gifts of healings, the working of miracles, the gift of faith. I want to see the revelation gifts, the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge and the discerning of spirits.

Man, I want to see the vocal gifts, tongues and interpretations, and the gift of prophecy. I want to see these things! I want to go to church and see things happen the way that God designed it to happen. If we’re to be the church, we’ve got to start acting like the church!

Take a look at this:

He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
(Ps. 91:1)

Let me tell you something. God is in a secret place. Yeah that’s right! He’s in a secret place.

I heard Tommy Tenny put this in such an awesome fashion: Think of a five-year-old boy and his father playing hide and go seek. Now, the father was the one to go hide and the five-year-old to go seek. Now, how many of you know that that father isn’t going to go hide in a place that he can’t be found? God is the same way.

You might be praying and spending time, “Father, I come before you…” and God is going to hide in a place where He can still be found, where there’s still a portion of Him seen.

But it’s going to take a little effort. It’s going to take a little effort on your part so that God can be found. It’s not just an automatic thing, “Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus….” BOOM, there He is! No, it doesn’t work that way, you have to make an effort to connect with God. You’ve got to do things that stir up your most holy emotions.

I’m telling you, God wants to be found on a daily basis. Do you want to be a God chaser? Better yet, do you want to be a God catcher?

Hey, I want to catch God! I don’t want to play games. I know that God wants to be found. He wants to be grabbed and embraced and He wants to embrace you.

Scott, a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota grew up with a passion for playing drums. By the time he was 17, he had played with several Christian bands and once had the opportunity to tour with Whiteheart... however, it was turned down because God had better plans!

God's better plans included marriage to his wife, Heather, becoming a student at North Hennepin Community College, and subsequently moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma for two years of Bible school at Rhema Bible Training Center. Scott's two year training included an emphasis in youth ministry.

After graduation, Pastor Scott served on staff at Living Word Christian Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota (Pastor Mac Hammond) under youth pastor Steve Munds.

Scott's vision is to teach and preach the uncompromised Word of God by precept and example; to disciple others into a position of leadership that they can take with them throughout their life.
