Godliness for the Total Man

by Keith Butler | The Anointed Word

Being godly is profitable to you in every area of your life.

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things…” (1 Tim. 4:8 KJV).

Since godliness is profitable unto all things, that means godliness is profitable for your physical body. And godliness is profitable for your marriage or single life. Godliness is profitable for your financial well being.

To be profitable is tied to the blessings that we are promised in Deuteronomy 28. To profit means that we will increase in the area where we have been blessed. What this is saying is that we can expect a reward from God when we obey Him and when we are doing what He told us to do.

We can expect to make a profit in every area where we apply the Word and obey God.

Godliness is profitable in every single area in your life! The word says in Romans 6:23 that there is a “price tag” to sin and that the wages of sin is death. God is against sin, but He is not against fun. God is against sin because it will kill you! It brings death to you in various ways.

Sometimes it can be a slow death, you don’t even recognize you are dying; until…bang!…death catches up to you.

But notice again what 1 Timothy 4:8 says, “…Godliness is profitable unto all things having promise of the life that now is….” The life that now is refers to life on the earth. In other words, godliness has promise. It has blessings for the life that “now is” on this earth.

We don’t have to wait to go to heaven to receive a reward from God. We can prosper right here on this earth. The blessings are for us and they are for our benefit. We need to know what the blessings are and we need to know how to walk in them.

The blessings that we experience are for us and the enemy should not be able to take our blessing away from us.

Walk in godliness and you will profit spiritually, mentally, and physically.
