I know the Bible teaches us that we should have only one wife, and that when we are married we shouldn’t have other sexual relations. I ask this question with all sincerity. I can’t be satisfied with one woman, so how can I obey the Scriptures?
The truth is: only one woman can satisfy you and bring you the delight and pleasure that God wants you to have. The reason you are not currently satisfied is because you have a sexual lust problem.
Lust causes you to always desire more and never be satisfied. If a man has a lust problem, he could marry one woman and be happy until he sees another. Both may be attractive women, but he cannot be satisfied because of a lust problem.
Jesus has given the Christian power over lust. Notice what the Bible says:
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh….
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
(Gal. 5:16,19-21)
Being a Christian does not free you from the lust of the flesh. If Christians want to walk free from lust, then they must walk in the Spirit. If they walk in the Spirit, they will not fulfill the lust of their flesh.
Christians have to choose to walk in the Spirit. As a pastor, I have taught our church members how to do this. If you accept Jesus as your personal Savior, and learn to walk in the Spirit, you will only desire one woman.
You will be glad that God created the husband and wife relationship.
