“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…” (2 Chron. 16:9a KJV).
Many times people want to get the attention of a boy of a girl. They want somebody to notice them.
I submit to you that the only One you that need to pay attention to you is God Almighty. God wants to show Himself strong in your life. He wants to be to you whatever you need Him to be.
Now having God move in your life might not seem like nothing, because maybe you don’t know how strong God is. He’s the One that raised Jesus from the dead when He simply lifted His elbow. That seems pretty strong to me. And that same strength is the strength that He wants to use in our lives today.
God’s eyes will find only the one whose heart is perfect toward Him and not anybody else. For example, there were things I did before I was saved. Of course, I am now saved and that old man is dead. I don’t do those things anymore.
But before I got saved, me and my friends used to go to the mall to see who could get the most telephone numbers from girls. Now everybody in the mall did not necessarily attract our attention. There were only certain people who we thought were fine (good looking).
[Now, God made you and you look good to God and that is all that counts. It doesn’t matter what I think or anybody else. The Bible says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. There is no such thing as an ugly person. It is just that beauty is in the eye of the beholder].
So somebody would walk by, her good looks would catch my eye; and I’d go after her. Now God says that His eyes are running to and fro throughout the whole earth. But what catches His eye? A heart that is pure and clean before Him.
So here goes God walking through the earth. He sees you fellowshipping with Him – as usual. You’re praising Him and spending time in His Word in your personal time. He says, “I’ve got to show myself strong on your behalf. Oh, you look just too good to Me!”
So you have some demonstration coming, because you grabbed His attention. You caught His eye. And He is ready to do some wonderful things in your life.
