I Believe God

by Tim Davidson | Uncategorized

“Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God that it shall be even as it was told me.”

(Acts 27:25)

Paul said this to the men that were with him in a boat in the middle of a storm, in the middle of the sea, when it was a sure thing that the boat was going to sink. Paul said, “I believe God.” He said he was confident that God would do exactly what He had told him He would do. God had told Paul in the middle of the fury that He would save the ship and all the men on board.

The Message Bible says: “So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me.”

What a benefit to be on board with someone who believes God. Paul gave his companions a reason to keep up their courage and not let fear sweep them under. Paul had complete confidence in God: “…it will be exactly as it was told me.”

We can have the same assurance when facing the storms of our life. We must simply look to God, listen to the Word of God, and then believe Him with corresponding actions.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I believe God. It shall be exactly as God has told me in the Word of God.

Jesus, My Lord

"Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am." (John 13:13) It is right and good to call Jesus our Lord, for He certainly is that. But what does it mean? "Lord" means supremacy or supreme in authority. Jesus is our Lord the minute we accept Him. "Lord"...
