There is a mighty army of people who are rising up with an attitude! Their mission is to search out and destroy every stronghold and trap the enemy has put before them. They are born to fight and born to conquer!

This mighty army is the Body of Christ with an attitude to destroy their enemy on every front.

The battle may be fierce at times, but their victory is certain if they will simply follow orders. They must be radical believers with an attitude of fearlessness in the face of hell. It is the attitude of the soldier—the attitude of a warrior. A soldier is trained to fight and win in battle.

As believers, our fight is a fight of faith. We do not see people as the enemy, but we see the real enemy, Satan.

As believers, we are engaged in a very real war. It is a spiritual war that each believer must take an active part in overcoming. It is a war against the strategies of the devil to destroy our lives, our health, our confidence, our testimony or some other aspect of God’s promise of abundant life. Conquering in this war is not an option, it is a mandate!

Too many times people do not take an active role in dealing with the things that go on around them. Instead, they simply allow things to happen and do not resist the attacks that are meant to ultimately destroy them.

If the enemy cannot destroy us, he will strive to contain us. He will work to prevent us from growing or expanding any further than we have already. If he can keep us from moving forward in our walk with God—in our destiny—then he has won the battle.

General Douglas MacArthur made a powerful statement regarding natural military war. He said, “The history of failure in war can be summed up in two words: Too late! Too late in comprehending the deadly purpose of a potential enemy. Too late in realizing the mortal danger. Too late in preparedness. Too late in uniting all possible forces for resistance. Too late in standing with one’s friends.”

Many of the same problems face the believer. Before they realize the seriousness of their situation, Satan has tried to overwhelm them. Second Timothy 2:3-4 says,
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
(2 Tim. 2:3-4 NKJV)
The good soldier must develop an attitude about who he is and he must know his real purpose. There are a multitude of jobs and positions available in military service, and every solder is trained for many things. The first priority in training a soldier, however, is to train him to fight and win. He will learn the use of weapons, hand-to-hand combat, following commands, survival and important details concerning the enemy he is fighting.

Our focus must be on God’s plan for our lives. Therefore we must resist and destroy the works of our enemy. Do we meet the requirements of good soldiers in the army of God?
