God was seeking a godly seed. That is the issue of population. When God said, "I want you to multiply and replenish the earth," He was talking about populating the earth with a godly seed.
Satan understood what God was trying to do. So he devised strategies, such as divorce and abortion, to stop God's plan. Godly seeds come about because husbands and wives stay together. They don't run off at the first sign of trouble. But a man and woman of God, under God's influence only, will produce a godly seed, through whom God's anointing can flow.
My wife and I got married when we were teenagers. We didn't know a lot. But one thing we both decided about our marriage is that it is for life. If we have hell, then we are just going to go through the hell, because we don't believe in divorce. That was our commitment to each other. Now when we started out, at times, things went wrong. But we had a commitment to each other. And that commitment was under God.
As a rule of the house, we have never used the word divorce in our life, because it can move your actions from under the house of God into one of Satan's first strategies, which is to divide husbands and wives. Reducing the likelihood of having a godly seed.
God wants children. Satan said, "I've got to devise a strategy whereby these Christians don't produce. For every one of them that is not here, the better it is for me." So Satan devised a strategy called abortion.
People get out there and want to receive the reward of making children without paying the price. I don't care about your political association. Abortion is about standing in God's place, deciding who lives and who doesn't. That isn't your role. He told you to provide a godly seed.
The children of people in a godly home will get saved, filled with the Holy Ghost, and wind up being men and women of God who will take people out of Satan's kingdom. And that is God's intention for every child conceived in the womb.
