It’s What’s In You That Counts

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“To whom God would make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

(Col. 1:27)

Christ in you—that is the hope of glory. Notice, it doesn’t just say Christ is our hope of glory. Jesus finished the work of saving us and preparing glory for our eternity. Yet, in spite of it all, if He doesn’t dwell in you, there isn’t any glory waiting.

The Message Bible says: “God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you; therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our Message.”

Too often we look for God in heaven to move on our behalf. We want Him to alter all our circumstances and make them different. God’s goal is to move in us and make us different. Then all the things around us succumb to the Christ in us. Glory!

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Christ living in me is the hope of glory. I will look for Him to move in me today.
