And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
(Eph. 3:17-19 NIV)
God wants us to experience His love! His Word even says so. Our Father wants us to know and believe the love He has for us.
Let’s look at Ephesians 3:19 from the Amplified Bible,
“[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!”
His love is four-dimensional; it’s wide, deep, long and high. And He wants us to know His love in all of its dimensions – practically, through experience for ourselves. If you need a major revelation of His love for you – here are some things you can embrace to receive His love.
Meditate: Meditate on the Scriptures that demonstrate God’s love and think about each word. Ponder what each word and phrase means to you. Put yourself in each verse. For example, if we take this verse “…God is love,” (1 John 4:8, AMP), what would that look like in your world – in your daily life – to know His love experientially?
Pray: Pray the prayer in Ephesians 3:14-20 and soak in each word. Remember, when we ask anything according to His will He hears, and if we know He hears us, we know we have the petition we’ve asked of Him. When you ask and believe Him for a fresh revelation of His love – He’ll give it to you.
Speak: Speak about God’s love, His generosity, His care for you, His goodness, His mercy and His kindness all day long. Say things like, “I know God loves me and not only do I know it – I believe it!”
Let’s put these actions into practice as we soak in the knowledge of God’s love for us.
Say It: Father, I know You love me and not only do I know it – I believe it. Today, I pray that I would be rooted and established in Your love, and have power, together with all Your people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. I pray that I would know this love that surpasses knowledge – practically through experience for myself – and that I would be filled with the richest measure of God and be filled with Your divine Presence. As a young couple, fresh out of Bible School with Two daughters and a third child on the way, Jeff and Beth Jones felt God's call to pioneer Valley Family Church in 1991 with a vision to make an eternal difference in Southwest Michigan. As a husband and wife team, they have always led together as visionary pastors and have shared the pulpit as Bible teachers. They are passionate about building the local church in greater Kalamazoo and the global church around the world.
Their message has always been focused on the basics of the Bible and has remained consistent since VFC's beginning. Throughout VFC's history, the goal of their teaching has been to help people live an abundant life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and through faith in God's Word.
