For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection.
Christians are united with Jesus in the image of His death. If we share in His death, by accepting Jesus in our heart and by being baptized, we will also be raised to life with Him by the power of God. Jesus is now living His life in us, and we are now living our lives in Him.
The Message Bible says: Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we’re going in our new grace-sovereign country.
Daily we live so the death and resurrection of Jesus are tangible in our lives. We are sharing in His death when we give up our ideas and ways and embrace His. We also are sharing in His resurrection when we trust the impressions of our heart and do things as Jesus would do them. In both, we are one with Jesus.
I have been planted together in the likeness of his death, and I shall also be raised in the likeness of His resurrection.
