“The Lord is able to give you much more than this” (2 Chron. 25:9 NKV).
How often are we willing to settle for less than God’s best for our lives? Sometimes when a step of faith requires some real effort, it seems easier to give in to pressure and accept substandard arrangements or provision.
This verse assures us that the Lord is trying to raise our sights in order to raise our levels.
Whatever you may have in life right now, the Lord is able to give you much more than this. His plans for you, if accepted and implemented by you, will improve your quality of life.
Good will become better. Better will become best. God is able to do much more for you. Best of all. He is willing to do it. All it takes is faith.
But faith is not a struggle to convince your “spirit” of something your mind knows is really not so. It’s not saying “I believe” over and over until you “psyche” yourself into believing by force of sheer repetition. Faith is not brainwashing or mouth wishing.
Simply stated, faith is more than believing God.
We have all heard of the great faith of Abraham. Yet what he did, we can all do: …Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness (Rom 4:3). Abraham became known as the “father of faith.” Why? Because of his attitude and actions – before him whom he believed, even God… (v. 17).
The Lord is able to give you much more than this. If you have faith – if you believe God – then take Him at His Word. Do what Abraham did: Believe God, agree with God, obey God. Do that, and you will receive “much more than this” from Him! Amen!
