“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself….”
There is a doctrine in Christian circles that says Jesus will “rapture” the church. The word rapture is not used in scripture, but the phrase “receive you unto myself” is.
This all means that Jesus has gone on ahead of us and is preparing many mansions in His Father’s house. Then, when He has it all ready, He will come again and “receive us unto Himself.”
The Message Bible says: “There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live.”
As Christians here on earth, God makes His home in us. Our life here is often times rough and the atmosphere can be very troubled. This life is temporal and subject to change.
Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us where we will live with God in His home, in His atmosphere, and with His unchanging beauty flowing. It’ll be heaven!
Jesus loves me and has gone to prepare a place for me so I can be with Him forever.
