Peace Through Knowledge

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”

(2 Peter 1:2)

God grants us His peace. But He brings it into our lives through different channels. One way peace is multiplied unto us is through our knowledge of God. In this case, it is what you know that makes the difference. Notice God says He doesn’t just add peace to our lives; He multiplies it.

The Message Bible says: “Grace and peace to you many times over as you deepen in your experience with God and Jesus, our Master.”

As we keep learning more and more about God and our Lord Jesus Christ, we keep increasing in the calm quietness of God’s peace. Peace is multiplied through the knowledge of God. Knowledge means full discernment, or recognition of God. As we get to know God we will increasingly recognize His hand and handiwork concerning circumstances we face. Therein we stay at peace, knowing God is at work.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Grace and peace are multiplied in my life as I get to know God through His Word. Therefore I can face my day, no matter what.

Not Of Works

"Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph. 2:9) God saves us by His grace working through faith. The grace and the faith, as well as God's decision to save us, all comes from God as a gift. Therefore it isn't of us. It isn't something we have earned, or that...
