“But whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him.”
How can love be perfected in us? We read that for every one who keeps His Word, the love of God is made perfect or complete in them. God is love. Everything God does is love in action. If we do what God says to do our actions will be love in action too.
The Message Bible says: “But the one who keeps God’s word is the person in whom we see God’s mature love. This is the only way to be sure we’re in God.”
Jesus, the Son of God, is the ultimate example for us to follow, for nobody ever loved more than Jesus. The Word reveals God’s will for us, which is to be like Him. We truly love God only when we obey Him. When we obey His Word, we will share His love with others and treat them right, and then they will know we belong to Jesus.
I can love others because I am loved. As I keep God’s word and do it, I am being perfected in the love of God.
