“…in My name…They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
There is an awesome divine protection available to believers, in Jesus’ name, for us to claim. He said that if we would happen to pick up snakes or drink any poison, we would not be harmed. As an example of this, a poisonous snake bit Paul while gathering firewood, and he shook it off in Jesus’ name and had no side effects.
The Message Bible says: “They will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well.”
Another benefit the name of Jesus gives us is the power and authority to minister to sick people. Jesus said we will place our hands on the sick in His name, and the sick ones will recover. Many people, both in our families and out in the workplace, are sick and God wants us to lay our hands on them in Jesus’ name so they will experience His love and be healed. Let’s trust God and do it.
The Word provides divine protection for me as well as ministry to the sick.
