God wants to lead us into new dimensions of walking and living in the Spirit. We will not need to struggle to enter in, only follow. Our steps will become clear before us and our paths brightly illuminated as we give place to the Holy Spirit!
Jesus, the Branch through which divine life and power from heaven flowed, did not live in the limitations of natural men. He did not make His decisions based only by information given to Him, nor did He size up people based solely upon their appearance or actions. He had access to another dimension: the dimension of the Spirit.
The prophet Isaiah looked ahead in time and saw the anointing of the Holy Spirit resting upon the Messiah of God. He spoke clearly of the facets of that anointing that would flow through Him.
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord, and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears….
(Isa. 11:1-3 NKJV)
The Spirit of the Living God would rest upon Jesus and move Him according to the wisdom, counsel, and knowledge of God. He would not react by what He saw or heard. It was this dimension of the anointing that Jesus came to demonstrate.
Mankind was meant to have God’s counsel and might. Jesus came to make the desire for deep involvement with God a reality. His life was not limited to natural impulses or fears. He lived with no limitations, and He has paved the way to remove the limitations for all mankind.
The Apostle Paul said this of Christ: “…in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3 NKJV). He is in us! When He came to live within us, all His treasures came, too. All of His hidden treasures are deposited within us.
Just as God’s power and might can be stirred within us, so can His counsel. We can receive divine counsel because the Spirit of Counsel has come. His counsel is ours today!
The miracle of counsel is as supernatural as any physical miracle. Not all miracles are confined to what we can see outwardly. There are many supernatural things God will do that are not outwardly spectacular. We risk missing the supernatural when we are looking for the spectacular. He can move through an entire auditorium of people with a wave of the Spirit of Counsel that will bring answers and direction to individual needs. That is supernatural!
Jesus, the Branch, has brought the life and anointing to us in the form of the Holy Spirit. The facets of His anointing upon us can flow through us to make supernatural insight and power available. We are to receive His anointing in all we do each day.

Vikki and Dennis began as youth pastors in 1973 in Southern California where they received tremendous insight into the work of the local church. In 1976, they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, to work with Kenneth Copeland Ministries. Vikki worked with KCM for three years before entering full-time ministry with her husband.
