Rooted in Jesus

by | A Verse A Day

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

(Col. 2:7 KJV)

To be rooted means to be firmly established, steady, stable and strong. So sink your roots down deep in Jesus and build on your life on Him. Your faith will strengthen you so that you can do what you have been taught. Then your life will run over with thanksgiving.

The Message Bible says: You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.

Plant your roots in Jesus Christ and let Him be the base and basis of your life. God Himself has chosen you for this special relationship with Jesus. God is for you. He wants to bless you so much you can’t help but overflow with thanksgiving.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am rooted and built up in Jesus and I conduct myself so others will thank God for me.
