“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”
We must desire to tell the good news about Jesus whenever and wherever we go. This readiness must be like shoes on our feet, a fashion necessity. The world around us is hurting. People are confused and ignorant of God’s love and salvation. They are lost and heading toward hellfire. God has given us a part of the armor of God that covers our feet. We are to be geared up to put the go in the gospel.
The Message Bible says: “Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued…peace….”
The Roman soldier had to prepare for what was coming. He had to be ready to go at a moment’s notice, and cross whatever ground required of him. He had shoes, sandals that protected his feet and made it possible for him to be in the right place at the right time.
As Christians, we will also be in the right place at the right time by the leading of the Holy Spirit. However, it’s of utmost importance that we are equipped to proclaim the Good News of Jesus when we get there. The Gospel gives peace to all.
I have the full armor of God. I have shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel.
