Christians have been polluted by so many ideas on how to get healed. If you believe you’re healed because of something you feel, you may manifest that healing because of the grace and mercy of God—but you’re subject to problems because you put your faith in something physical. Feelings aren’t of the devil; they just need to be submitted unto Jesus.
There is no bad way to receive healing. I’ll lay hands on you until I rub all the hair off your head if that’s what it takes! But there are better ways to get healed than others. In the Old Testament, God was doing miracles and healing people on credit. Healing was harder to come by, and it had to come by a person. However this was appropriate in the Old Testament. Now everything has changed because of Jesus. Sad to say, the vast majority of the body of Christ is still operating under an Old Testament model. They are waiting for a super duper to lay hands on them to get them healed, but many Christians don’t realize that God has already given them everything for “life and godliness.” (2 Pet. 1:3)
The best thing I have to offer is what the Bible has to say. Satan cannot change the Word of God. It’s important that you get this. In John 20:29, Jesus said, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” There is a greater blessing when you get to where you believe the Word and not just because you saw or felt something.
You need to take the word that’s already been given to you and stand on it. First Peter 2:24 says, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” You’re healed. Now act healed.
I don’t care if I ever see or feel the power of God again; I’m going to take the Word of God and believe I am healed. I want the greatest manifestation of power operating in my life. I don’t want anything less. You have a covenant with God that says He’s already healed you. It’s already done! It’s not a question of if God will heal you; He’s already healed you. It’s a matter of when you are going to believe with all of your heart. When you believe it’s already done and you’re not trying to get healed, you’ll see that healing manifest—without anyone laying hands on you.
