Strip Off That Weight!

by Scott Sibinski | Uncategorized

Man, think of the character of God and how good He is. Think of all the things that He can do for us.

But do you know what? We determine how much He can do for us.

We are the determining factor that makes the decision whether or not we want to go with God or we want to go with the devil. Does that get your attention?

If we have one foot in and one foot out, we’re not going to get anywhere. We’re stuck. We can’t move because our feet are spread so far apart…how do you move? How can your run your race?

You end up kinda dragging your feet. It’s almost like trying to run a race with a picnic table stuck between your legs…even if you could move; you’d look kinda goofy.

You know the Bible talks about your race. I like how the Living Bible talks about it:

Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.
(Heb. 12:1 TLB)

But you know, when you strip off that weight and your feet are together (and you are not trying to straddle that picnic table) you’ll be able to run that race.

You will see the plan and the purpose for your life. You’ll know the call of God and how strong it is in your life because you’re putting THAT as your focus.

You know what? You are reading this message for the soul purpose of getting stronger in Him so that when you go out today, you can be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Putting God first is how you “GET IT TOGETHER AND KEEP IT TOGETHER.”

Scott, a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota grew up with a passion for playing drums. By the time he was 17, he had played with several Christian bands and once had the opportunity to tour with Whiteheart... however, it was turned down because God had better plans!

God's better plans included marriage to his wife, Heather, becoming a student at North Hennepin Community College, and subsequently moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma for two years of Bible school at Rhema Bible Training Center. Scott's two year training included an emphasis in youth ministry.

After graduation, Pastor Scott served on staff at Living Word Christian Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota (Pastor Mac Hammond) under youth pastor Steve Munds.

Scott's vision is to teach and preach the uncompromised Word of God by precept and example; to disciple others into a position of leadership that they can take with them throughout their life.
