You Have Authority But You Can’t Override Prophecy

Stand up for who you are! You are a member of the body of Christ. You have abilities and power behind you that the world can’t comprehend! The power of God is not adjusted to great power or small power by the location of a Christian.

In other words, the power of the blood for protection is just as great in the darkest country of the world as it is in the free world. This is why we were commanded by our Lord to go and teach the good news of the Word to all nations. Without the knowledge of the protective power of the blood, a Christian will not access it. Unless we apply the blood to the doorpost of our homes and hearts, the destroyer will not pass over.

We, as Christians, have the awesome responsibility to tell the world of this power.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
(Hosea 4:6)

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
(Matt. 28:19-20)

No weapon formed against you can prosper (Isa. 54:17). There is nothing that can come against you that cannot be conquered by using the words of your mouth!

You have the Word of God, the name and the blood of Jesus available on a moment’s notice! You are the only one who is keeping you from using this awesome power!

Again, the devil is a defeated foe. The only authority and power he has is what we give him. So if the devil is coming against you, you can make him stop!

When you get face to face with the devil, don’t back off. Just put your finger in his face and say, “Be gone! You have no right here. In the name of Jesus, get out of my path!”

Greater Is He That Is In You
We have the freedom to study about the blood of Jesus and the ability, if we’ll take it, to use the blood of Jesus in our lives totally unhindered by man.

When we go out into the world we can be mighty warriors. We don’t have to be beaten down wimps. We don’t have to go into the workplace and have people look at us and make fun of us and watch us cower and say, “Well, I’d better not say anything. I sure don’t want to embarrass myself.” Stand up for who you are! Stand up for who He is. “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

There is a way to activate the power of God and keep the devil out of your face. When he comes against your home, your family or your finances, there is something you can do to push back the devil and keep him out. Now, somebody may say, “Does that mean we can kick the devil off the face of the earth?” No! There are limits to your authority. That is why you must have the knowledge of what God says for you to do.

I was in a Bible study one time when I heard a lady pray, “And, Satan, I command you back to hell from whence you came.” The Bible doesn’t say the devil has ever been to hell, and he certainly doesn’t want to go there anyway. The Bible prophetically tells us when the devil is going to be cast into hell in Revelation 20:10.

We must know how God says to handle the devil and we must know what we’re doing. The devil may be loose in the spirit realm on the earth, but we can keep him and the forces of the enemy out of our space. Your words are powerful, but your words will never override God’s prophecy. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

God’s Word Prepares and Equips Us

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do.

God wants each one of us to do something. He has a plan and a purpose for every person. But He doesn’t expect us to go figure it out on our own. He provided us with a manual full of instructions, wisdom, and revelation to prepare us and equip us.

He gave us the Word to use on a daily basis as our guide. The Bible provides us direction for every area of our lives, including business.

It teaches us what’s right and wrong and how God expects us to behave and perform in the business world. Let’s use it, spend time in it, and meditate on it day and night. We need it, and God knew it.

We’re Here to Finish the Work

But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him.
(2 Cor. 5:18 Amp)

How easy it is to slip into the mindset that our sole purpose on earth is to have a happy life and enjoy God’s blessings! How easy it is to get so content in our own salvation that we forget that’s not all God has in mind for us. If it were, He would have taken us straight to heaven the moment we were born again. He would have caught us up to His throne room as soon as we received Jesus as Lord so we could live happily ever after in His presence.

But He didn’t do that.

He left us here on this sin-ridden planet because He has a job for us to do.  He has a ministry for each one of us to carry out. He left us here on planet earth so that we could live in such a way that—by word and deed—we bring others into relationship with Him.

In other words, He left us here to finish the ministry of reconciliation that Jesus began.

That’s a staggering thought, isn’t it? It almost makes us want to throw our hands in the air and say, “I can’t do it! I don’t have what it takes!”

And it’s true. On our own, we don’t.

Oh sure, we can roll up our spiritual sleeves and go to work trying to win the world for Jesus. But we won’t get very far, because in ourselves, we don’t have the resources to get the job done. We don’t know what to pray, what to say, where to go, or what to do to effectively reach the billions that are still living in spiritual darkness. It’s an overwhelming task!

How, then, are we supposed to do it?

Second Corinthians 5:15 reveals the secret. It says that Jesus “died for all, so that all those who live might live no longer to and for themselves, but to and for Him…” (Amp). Notice, we’re supposed to live to God (or in fellowship with Him) before endeavoring to live for Him. To succeed in our ministry of reconciliation, we must go to Him before we reach out to others because He alone has the wisdom and divine might to light up this whole planet with the Gospel. He alone can generate the life-giving power the nations so desperately need.

That’s why He has invited us to come boldly every day to His throne of grace. That’s why He has promised that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. In those times of fellowship, His life-generating power flows into us in abundance and equips us to go forth and—by words and deeds—light up the world with His life.

As we fellowship with Him, we receive what we need to live for Him. In His presence, we find the power to finish the work He has called us to do.

He Sent His Word To Heal You

“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Ps. 107:20).

How did God send His Word to heal us? He gave us sixty-six books of His words – the Bible. As we hear the Word, it starts working inside us to make us completely healed and whole.

When you go all through the Gospels, in most cases you’ll find that hearing came before healing. And if it worked that way under Jesus’ ministry, it still works that way today.

When you need healing, the best thing you can do is to hear and hear and hear and hear. Keep that Word going into your ears every way possible. Keep hearing what God says about your healing.

Many people want to go to one particular meeting and miraculously receive their healing. They aren’t interested in hearing. Sometimes God in His mercy does manifest Himself, and people receive their healing. But most of the time, they have to take time to hear before they are healed.

You see, walking by faith doesn’t come from leaving your Bible on the shelf until it’s time to dust it off and carry it to church. Your faith grows as you get into God’s Word. It builds in your spirit as you hear it from the preacher, cassette tapes and out of your own mouth.

He sent His Word, and it heals you. When does it heal you? When you take the time to hear it.

Confession:

God sent His Word to heal me. His Word is life to me and

medicine to all my flesh. I hear His Word and obey it,

and I am delivered from sickness and disease.

Finish Strong

… when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?
Luke 18:8 Amp

Many times, we start out strong in prayer. We’re watchful enough to sense the direction of the Lord and to hear His promise about a situation. But we don’t finish strong. We don’t persevere until we see the answer.

After we’ve prayed for a while and don’t see any sign on the horizon that our prayers are being answered, we give up.

Jesus told us not to do that. He said we “ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up)” (Luke 18:1 Amp).

He said we should follow the example of the widow who kept coming and coming to the unjust judge asking for justice against her adversary. Because she was persistent, that woman finally got her answer—and she was dealing with an unjust judge! How much more can we be assured of an answer from our loving heavenly Father if we will persevere in prayer?

Of course, not every prayer requires that kind of persistence. The prayer of faith where we believe we receive that which is ours by virtue of redemption can be prayed just once. But prayers of intercession, or watching prayers, are totally different. When we pray those kinds of prayers, like the widow in Luke 18, we are contending with an adversary. We are taking a stand against Satan, thwarting his plans, resisting his interference, and opening the way for the will of God to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

To do that effectively, we must keep ourselves spiritually awake and alert. And once we have seen what the Holy Spirit is showing us, we must hold to it with perseverance until we see 100 percent victory.

I am fully persuaded that if we will watch and pray the way the Bible teaches us to do, these last days—as challenging as they are—will be the most glorious days we’ve ever known. They will not only be days of destiny; they will be the days of destinies fulfilled.
