I Shall Live and Not Die

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
(Ps.118:17)

Years ago while I was ministering at a youth camp in the Sierra Mountains near Sonora, California, I received an emergency telephone call. The voice on the other end said, “Brother Hagin, do you remember Gary?” I did. The man was talking about his oldest boy who was nine.

“Well,” he said, “he had a sore throat and we prayed about it. But it got worse. We carried him to the doctor, and the doctor said that the infection went to his kidneys. Now his kidneys have stopped functioning. The doctor said that he will be dead in a matter of minutes. He is in intensive care, and we want you to agree with us. We believe that Gary will live and not die.”

I said, “I believe with you that he will live and not die.”

I was at this youth camp for several weeks. Before I left, I received a little reel-to-reel tape recording in the mail. On it, the man said to me, “Brother Hagin, they would only let me in the intensive care unit for five minutes a day. I would say to Gary, ‘You lie there and say, “Himself took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses.” I’ll live and not die.’

“That little fellow said that over and over again for two days and two nights. Suddenly, he was all right. We just brought Gary home, and he wants to say something to you.”

Then I heard Gary say, “Brother Hagin, I want to thank you for bringing the truth to me. Dad has already told you, but I must have said those words over ten thousand times each night.”

The doctors couldn’t understand how that little boy had lived, but he did. God’s Word works!

Confession:

I repeat the following to myself daily: “Jesus took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses. I shall live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord.”

God’s Way Is Perfect

Psalm 18:30 (NLT)

As for God, his way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.

Everything we need to live a successful life we can find in the Bible. God gave us instructions and commandments to help us follow Him. His way is perfect. The Bible also contains God’s promises for our lives and proof that He fulfills each promise.

In addition, as our shield and protector, He is always waiting for us to run to Him and seek His protection. Interaction plays an important part in our walk with God. Therefore, just as He does His part in being our shield, we have to do our part in running to Him.

That’s why when Jesus left the earth, He left His Holy Spirit so we could communicate with God. The Holy Spirit has all the qualities of God. Through His Spirit, God tells us how much He loves us and also reveals His plan for our lives. The promises God gives to us personally can come true if we obey Him.

Even though God has a plan for our lives, we still have to choose to do His plan and obey each step He asks us to do. Without obedience, His plan in our lives cannot happen.

Always keep the Lord involved in your everyday life. Sometimes you may not involve God when you need help in business because you think it’s not a spiritual matter.

However, God is the master of business, and you should involve Him. He is the one who gives you the business ideas to begin with. So, ask God for advice in your job and in your business endeavors. His way is perfect in every area.

Spoiled Principalities

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

(Col. 2:15 KJV)

This verse is talking about the work Jesus did against the evil forces of Satan’s troops. By way of the cross, Jesus freed Himself from the power of the spiritual darkness that encompassed Him, and then He disarmed them, stripped them of their power to accuse us, and dislodged them from the high ranking positions they had taken over fallen man.

The Message Bible says: He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.

After God had made Jesus free from the influence of the evil authorities and powers, He then put them openly to shame, by making a public spectacle of them, leading them as captives in His victory parade. Jesus glorified God by the cross and His triumph over those entities. We glory too because Jesus did it all for us.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

The evil powers of Satan are disarmed and humiliated by the finished work of Jesus on the cross. I rejoice and walk in His victory today.

Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing Baby

Yesterday I was driving down the highway and listening to my favorite CD by Chaim David. Chaim David lives in the old city of Jerusalem. Earlier this year I was browsing through some CD’s at the Moriah Bookstore just outside The Temple Mount. In the store they were playing Chaim David’s CD called “Build Your Home” and I couldn’t resist it.

Anyway, as I finished the CD and hit the eject button to put in my next CD, the radio came on and the song that was playing was titled, “Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing, Baby.” After listening to Chaim David worship the Lord in Hebrew, “Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing, Baby” didn’t even compare, so I turned the radio off. However, it made me think.

In the Book of Hebrews, it tells us that after Jesus resurrected, He entered into the Holy of Holies and put His blood on the Mercy Seat. By doing this He made the way for anyone to have their sins washed away simply by believing in Him and receiving Him. Now what is so interesting about this is that Jesus entered the Holy of Holies that was the “real thing” and not the copy. Jesus didn’t enter into the Holy of Holies in the earthly temple in Jerusalem which was a mere copy of the real thing. No! He went into heaven itself and put His blood on the original mercy seat.

A copy is good in that it gives us a likeness or an image of what the original is like. But the copy cannot fulfill what the original can.

The earthly priests in Jerusalem sacrificed and placed the blood of bulls and goats on the altar. The altar was not the true altar and the blood was not the true blood. They were only a type and shadow of the original. For this reason the blood of bulls and goats could never cleanse man from his sin, but could only cover, or atone.

The blood of Jesus, placed on the original mercy seat, made it possible for mankind to be cleansed from all sin. Atoning for (covering) sin is good but it does not even compare to cleansing, eradicating, and eliminating sin once and for all. The old covenant was good, but the new covenant is better. The copy was good, but there “ain’t nothing like the real thing, baby.”

Reference Scriptures

Who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
(Heb. 8:5)

For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another.

(Heb. 9:24-25)

Jesus Isn’t the Only One!

“You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Pet. 2:9).

The anointing is increasing in believers everywhere. They are flowing in the anointing – ministering to others, and signs and wonders are following. But despite the awesomeness of God’s Glory, we’re seeing in the Body of Christ, there’s still a bunch of religious folk who say, “Oh, no. I’m not anointed. I’m nothing more than an unworthy sinner saved by grace. Jesus was the only One truly anointed.”

That’s an ungodly lie! Jesus isn’t the only one anointed anymore! It was never God’s intention to simply anoint Jesus with His power and leave it at that. God on one man was not enough!

That’s why He sent Jesus to the cross and then raised Him from the dead. He wanted to open the way for us to become born again and to become a whole race of anointed men and women. He sent Jesus to be the anointed Head over an anointed Body of people who would take God’s devil-busting, yoke-annihilating power to every corner of the earth.

That’s been God’s plan from the beginning. Through Jesus the Anointed One, He raised up a whole nation of kings and priests and called them His Church.

That’s who we are! We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood! We are anointed with the Anointing of the Anointed One!

We are to be living proof that Jesus is alive and anointed with yoke-destroying power because His Anointing is on us.

In His Name, we lay hands on the sick and they recover. We cast out devils. We speak the Word of God in faith and set the captive free! We’re not unworthy sinners. The Word of God says we are joint heirs with Christ, sons of the Most High God. We’re the Body of Christ – the Anointed One and His Anointing!

If someone asks you, “Do you mean to tell me you have the power to heal?” We should answer them boldly and say, “Yes, thank God, because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I have the Anointing of Almighty God, and the Father within me, He doeth the works!”

Allow His Anointing to do His work. Walk in it! Stir it up! Remember: Jesus ISN’T the only one!

Speak the Word: I am part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. I proclaim the praises of Him who called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Pet. 2:9)
