Ten Things to Remember

by Joe McGee | Uncategorized

We take away the power of the enemy’s lies when we know the truth and the truth is that God loves us, He’s paid the price for us, and He has defeated the enemy for us.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.
(Jer. 29:11)

God Has a Plan for Us and It’s a Good One
God, the creator of the heavens and earth, has a plan for us, our marriage and our family. It’s a good plan—filled with good things!

It’s up to us to walk that plan out every day and for that we need to use our faith. Romans 10:7 tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6) and our faith helps us stand firm against the attacks of the enemy (1 Peter 5:9).

Knowing what God says and what His promises are builds our faith and helps us withstand the lies of the devil.

If we don’t know the truth, then we’ll believe a lie. If we don’t know that God says to “come boldly to the throne of grace” (Heb. 14:6) when we’ve messed up or don’t know what to do, then the enemy will try to have us believe that we are alone and in a hopeless situation. Again, if  we’re in the Word we know that God’s plan for us includes a future and a hope.

Ten Things to Remember
God draws us out of His goodness (Rom. 2:4), so now that we are His children, why would he change His character? That’s easy to answer—He doesn’t. He’s not waiting for us to mess up so He can punish us. He’s not left us nor forsaken us. It’s important to know what He says about us.

Here are 10 things He has promised us in His Word:

  1. I am for you (Romans 8:31)
  2. I love you. (John 15:9)
  3. I believe in you. (Romans 8:37)
  4. I will bless you. (Acts 3:26)
  5. I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
  6. I will be with you. (Matthew 28:20)
  7. I will not fail you. ( Joshua 1:5 NLT)
  8. I will provide for you. (Philippians 4:19)
  9. I will strengthen you. (Ephesians 3:16)
  10. I will answer you. ( 1 John 5:14-15)

The enemy wants to keep us stagnant in our relationship with God because the thing that scares him the most is God’s Word coming out of our mouth. We take away the power of the enemy’s lies when we know the truth and the truth is that God loves us, He’s paid the price for us, and  He has defeated the enemy for us—all we need to do is stand in faith on His Word.

Let’s start meditating the Word. Let’s be reading, hearing and speaking it.
