“The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him” (Prov. 20:7).
Over the years I have counseled with many parents who have had problems in their home concerning their children. And one thing I have found in common with them all is this. They all want their children blessed and prosperous.
According to the Word of God, this is not just a possibility for us as Christians but it is a promise. God has promised in His Word that as a righteous person, your children will be blessed.
If you are a born again believer in Jesus, then according to the Bible, you are righteous. You were made righteous in the moment of time that you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
With this in mind, remember, God does not lie. And if He said that the children of the righteous will be blessed, then they will.
Also, Proverbs 11:21 says that the children of the righteous will be blessed.
We must believe what God says about our children and we must say what God says about our children. Then we must follow with actions that correspond with what we say. Only then will we receive what God says.
Too often as Christians we see God’s promises as automatic. They are not. We must act on them in faith. Jesus died for the entire world, however not everyone is a Christian.
Why? It’s because not everyone has accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. Only those who accept Him by grace and through faith are saved. Yes He died for everyone, but only those who receive salvation actually have it.
Likewise we must believe, receive and act on God’s promises for our children. Remember this promise. The Children of the righteous will be delivered.
“Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will be delivered. (Prov. 11:21 NAS).
