For years, atheists and scientists have tried to convince people to believe the theory of evolution. But that is all it is, just a theory. Some people have even said that evolution is a religion all in itself. However, there is no evidence whatsoever to prove that mankind evolved from a monkey.
I once heard a funny little poem that goes like this…
I used to be an ameba, living life completely free.
Then I was a fish, swimming in the sea.
Then I was monkey, hanging from a tree,
And now, I’m a doctor with a Ph. D.!
The idea of evolution is just downright silly when you stop and think about it. In Genesis 1:11, God commanded the grass, the herb and the fruit trees to bring forth seed and fruit according to its kind. In Genesis 1:21, God created the birds and the fish according to their kind. And in Genesis 1:24, God brought forth the beasts of the earth according to their kind. That’s the way it happened way back then, and that is still the way it happens today.
God created life to reproduce itself, according to its own kind. That’s why you don’t get cotton when you plant corn. That’s why fish have baby fish, and monkeys have baby monkeys. You will never see a cow giving birth to a horse, or animal giving birth to a human. God knew what He was doing when He created the earth, and He still knows what He’s doing today!
God created this universe for a specific purpose. He created this world for Jesus. (Col. 1:16) Jesus is the reason for creation! God longed for sons and daughters to walk with, because of His “father” nature. But before He could create man, He had to create a place for us to live.
Isaiah 45:18 says that God formed the earth to be inhabited. God stored up vast resources of minerals and chemicals. He created all the fruits and vegetables and food sources we would ever need. He also built the beautiful landscapes that we see just for us to look at and enjoy.
Did you know that mankind is the only being throughout all of creation that can experience awe? God put that in us so that we could look at the countryside, or a beautiful lake, or even a flower—and be affected by it. God created this world to bless us!
Some people like to think that the earth is just an evolutionary accident that is floating around in space like some speck of dust, but that’s not true. In Genesis 1:14-19 the Word of God says that the earth is the reason for the universe. The other stars and planets were created for signs and for seasons, for days and for years, and to be lights in the firmament and to give light on this earth!
So you see, the Word of God tells us that Jesus is the reason for creation and man is the reason for the earth, and the earth is the reason for the universe.
Some people today believe that mankind is the center of the universe. This is actually a very clever distortion of the truth by Satan.
Although man is the reason for the earth, and the earth is the reason for the universe, we must never forget that the reason for man is God! The purpose for our very existence is to have a relationship with God Almighty, through Jesus Christ.
