“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
Jesus sacrificed everything for us. He didn’t hold back one part of His spirit, soul or body for His own convenience. His sacrifice was enough. We are all free and divine life is now ours by simply accepting the finished work of Jesus.
What does God expect from us in return? It is simple. Our continual sacrifice to keep offering praise to God in the name of Jesus is what He’s looking for. Our lips are to praise God.
The Message Bible says: “Let’s take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus’ name.”
We can make offerings of praise to God at all times and in all circumstances. We aren’t to praise God only when we feel like it. He said it is a sacrifice. That means it costs us something. Jesus is so awesome that even when things aren’t going well He is still worthy of our offering of praise. Make your lips praise Him, no matter what.
Today I will sacrifice to God the praise that is due His name. It’s the fruit of my lips.
