I want to share a testimony with you about the power of the prayer of faith.
In February of 2026, a dear friend asked me to pray for one of her friends. This woman had been wearing braces on her legs for four years and could not walk without extreme pain for, in her own words—and this is a direct quote— “years and years and years, longer than I can remember.”
When I prayed for her, I didn’t feel any special “healing anointing.” There were no fireworks or dramatic moments. I simply prayed the prayer of faith.
James 5:14–15 says:
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”
The prayer of faith is not merely wishing something would happen. The prayer of faith is not wishing—it is trusting God’s power and agreeing with His revealed will. And the will of God is revealed in the Word of God.
The Greek word used for “save” in this passage means restore or make whole, pointing to the holistic healing that God provides physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
That’s the kind of prayer I prayed that day.
Now, there have been other times when I ministered under a strong healing anointing. I remember a service in Ohio where I was praying for people, and there was one man I kept returning to pray for. The anointing was strong, and I felt compelled by the Spirit to minister to him again and again.
Later, we learned that he believed he had cancer in his blood and was in significant pain. But after that service, he went to the doctor, and the report came back—his blood was clear.
Thank God for the healing anointing.
But when I prayed for this woman with the leg braces, I felt about as “anointed” as a screen door on a submarine.
Yet I still prayed the prayer of faith because I knew God’s will for her. His will was healing and wholeness.
I laid hands on her and prayed. She didn’t fall over or jerk around—she simply received.
About a month later, my friend called me and said, “You remember the woman you prayed for?”
I said, “Yes, ma’am.”
She said, “Since that day, she went home, took off her braces, and hasn’t worn them since. She’s walking without pain.”
That’s the power of the prayer of faith.
It’s not begging God.
It’s agreeing with God.
And here’s the best part—YOU can pray the prayer of faith, too!
You don’t need to be in the five-fold ministry. Jesus said in Mark 16:18 that one of the signs that will follow believers is this:
“They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
When you pray the Word of God in faith, miracles happen because God confirms His Word.

Since its debut, the podcast has reached listeners in over 70 countries worldwide, tackling real issues facing culture and the Church while bringing them back to the truth of God's Word. His teaching style is both practical and Spirit-filled, making deep truths relatable for everyday life.
Before stepping into full-time itinerant ministry, Elijah gained hands-on experience that prepared him for the calling he walks in today. He served as an intern for a television ministry in Texas, where he learned the importance of excellence, vision, and media in advancing the Gospel. Later, he spent a term as an associate pastor in Atlanta, investing in people's lives, preaching, and shepherding a local congregation. These seasons gave him a depth and perspective that continue to fuel his heart for the global Church.
On February 4, 2021, Elijah was set apart as an associate member of Faith Life International under his spiritual parents, Keith and Phyllis Moore. Today, Elijah travels full-time across the U.S. and beyond, preaching an empowering message of righteousness, faith, and the supernatural life available in Christ. His passion is to see believers awakened to their identity in Christ—living boldly, walking in victory, and doing greater works by the power of the Holy Spirit.
