“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Whatever we allow our mind to dwell upon will become our reality in time. Unfortunately if we think constantly on lies, we eventually believe the lie to be true. Our thought life is more important than our outer life because the latter stems from the former. So it’s very important that we think correctly in the light of the Word.
The Message Bible says: “Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself.”
How did Jesus think about Himself? As we study the life of Jesus, we hear him telling people continually that He is the Light of the world, the good Shepherd, the bread of life. He also continually affirmed what He had come to do. “I am come to seek and to save that which was lost.” “I am come that you might have life and that more abundantly.”
Jesus thought about Himself in the light of the Word. Should not we do the same thing? Dare to think that God’s Word is as true to you as it was for Jesus. Let your mind dwell on who God says you are today.
I let the same mind that was in Jesus Christ abide in me. I think of myself according to the Word and act upon it.
