“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22 KJV).
If you are a true worshiper of God you highly esteem the Word of God. You recognize that the Word comes from God and that no word from God is void of power. Therefore, you don’t just hear the Word; you also do the Word because you know doing the Word is part of worshiping God.
You can’t say that you worship God and then act contrary to His Word. Jesus said, “He that loves me keeps my commandments.” So if you really love God, that means you’ll do His work and you wouldn’t dare want to do anything that’s going contrary to your Father’s wishes. God seeks such to worship Him.
If you’re going to be someone that stands in the blessing line and receive from God, you must be a doer of the Word and worship God first.
The Word of God states that we should worship God in spirit and in truth. In other words, we should worship from our spirit. You can do that by remembering where your blessings come from.
Remember how good He really has been to you. If it had not been for the Lord, you could be dead. You could be in Hell. You could be lost. You could be destroyed. But because of His grace, because of His mercy, because of His love, you are alive today.
Even when you didn’t know it He loved you. That ought to cause you to worship Him, not just when we get together with the saints of God. You ought to worship Him when you’re by yourself at home, when you’re driving the car, you ought to lift your voice and say, “Oh I worship you Lord.”
He’s worthy of your worship. And the Word of God says to worship Him. We worship Him because of who He is, not because of what we can receive from Him. A worshiper will worship God even when they don’t want anything, because He’s worthy.
Be a true worshipper of God. Worship Him first, and see Him work wonders in your life.
