We’re Weak Yet We Live

by | A Verse A Day

For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

(2 Cor. 13:4 NASB)

Although Jesus was weak when He was nailed to the cross because of His human nature, yet He now lives because of the power of God. We also are weak because of the same human nature just as Christ was; yet it stands to reason that we will also live by the power of God, just as Christ does.

The Message Bible says: He was sheer weakness and humiliation when he was killed on the Cross, but oh, he’s alive now— in the mighty power of God! We weren’t much to look at, either, when we were humiliated among you, but when we deal with you this next time, we’ll be alive in Christ, strengthened by God.

We have a choice to make every day. Are we going to live, move, walk, talk, and act on the weakness of our humanity? Or are we going to live, move, walk, talk, and act on the power of God? Be a saint. Make the right move; yield yourself to the One who loves you most. Choose wisely.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I am weak in my humanity but strong in my God.
