“He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.”
The reality of our salvation is that God saves everyone who believes on Jesus and no one else. Some hope that no one will go to Hell or be lost because God loves us and wouldn’t send us there. God’s love isn’t the determining factor.
If it was, we would be safe. Actually, whether or not we choose to believe the gospel and act on it determines our eternal abode.
The Message Bible says: “Whoever believes and is baptized is saved; whoever refuses to believe is damned.”
Jesus puts it this way, “Anyone who believes me and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe me will be condemned.”
The important factor is believing, not being baptized. Nothing has been promised anyone who refuses to believe the gospel except judgment. Remember, God offers His unconditional love and acceptance to “whosoever will” believe. Be a believer, not a doubter.
I believe and I’m saved. I am a voice today to help others also believe in Jesus.
