Why Does God Let People Get Away with Bad Things?

by Joseph Cameneti | Uncategorized

I was recently hurt by a so-called friend. They wronged me greatly by stealing money from me. Why does God let people get away with bad things?

Sometimes it appears that people are getting away with bad things, but really they are not. There are two things that will happen to those who wrong others. First, they will have to answer to God on judgment day.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil.
(Eccl. 12:13-14 NIV)

As if that isn’t enough, they will also reap the evil they sown. This means that someone else will do to them what they did to you. This is called “the law of sowing and reaping.” God put this law into place and it is constantly at work in the earth.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Gal. 6:7 NKJ).

“Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him” (Prov. 26:27 NKJ).

“Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works” (2 Tim. 4:14 NKJ).

Unfortunately, this person will incur the same evil he committed. Another person will treat him as he treated you. You need to pray for him, asking God to forgive him and open his eyes to the wrong committed.
