Believing We Rejoice

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.”

(1 Peter 1:8 NASB)

Faith always deals with things that can’t be seen yet. People that have to see something before they can believe it greatly limit the development of their spiritual life. But we, even without seeing Jesus, do believe in Him.

The Message Bible says: “You never saw him, yet you love him. You still don’t see him, yet you trust him—with laughter and singing.”

Even though we have not yet seen the physical presence of the Lord Jesus in our midst, yet believing in Him, we prove that we believe by rejoicing with joy unspeakable, full of glory.

Believers always seem to have praise for God and a shout of victory, even before anyone around them can see what they are rejoicing about. This makes them wonder. It also makes them want what we have. Glory.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Even though I do not see Jesus in the circumstances of my day, I do believe in Him and so I rejoice and praise God anyway.
