“Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
How do we know when we have this substance called faith? Do we just suppose we have it and accept what happens to us as the result we were supposed to have? No. I believe that there are some telltale signs that always accompany faith. They show us when faith is really in us. Having full assurance in our heart concerning the outcome of our circumstances before we see the end is one of them.
The Message Bible says: “So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out.”
If we don’t have this full assurance, if we are worried and fearful, if we speculate and wonder how things will turn out, then we aren’t fully convinced, and not in faith. The devil lies to us and sends people around to talk us out of trusting God.
But we will remain steadfast, praising God when we have full assurance of faith. To have full assurance in our heart means that we are confident, calm and collected. So trust God.
I draw near to God with a sincere heart and full assurance, trusting God.
