Communicating Good Things

by | A Verse A Day

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing, which is in you in Christ Jesus.

(Philemon 1:6 KJV)

People ‘t need more bad news in their lives. People need to hear some good news that will help them have hope and direction. Some people think that reminding others of sin is witnessing for Jesus. Pointing to the problem doesn’t introduce the solution. Your witness to others is extremely effective when you tell of every blessing that is yours in Christ.

The Message Bible says: And I keep praying that this faith we hold in common keeps showing up in the good things we do, and that people recognize Christ in all of it.

This verse indicates that true fellowship of faith in Jesus is accomplished by telling how God has been so good to us. Acknowledging the good things in Christ builds a base of expectation in others that will bring them to Christ also.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

Today I communicate my faith by telling all the good things I have in me in Christ Jesus.
