Don’t Let It Simmer!

by Steve Marr | Articles, Business

When upset with an employee, do you resolve the issue quickly or let it simmer?

The Apostle Paul wrote, “…do not let the sun go down on your anger” (Eph. 4:26 NASB).

When an employee angers us and is not confronted promptly, two things happen.

First, the problem will continue. Second, our anger will build until we explode later, often inappropriately.

When an employee makes a mistake, confront the issue quickly. State the problem, the consequence of the mistake and the future action required.

Staff performance will improve and frustration levels will drop as you never allow the sun to set on your anger.
