Now Faith

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

(Heb. 11:1)

Notice the timeframe in which faith works. Faith is always now. If it isn’t now it’s either past tense, which can never again be reached, or it’s future, which is never operative today. When do we believe God’s Word? Now. When do we act on God’s Word? Now. “Someday I will believe, someday I will act on the Word” doesn’t cut it for today. Putting it into the future tense always eliminates faith for now.

The Message Bible says: “The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see.”

There is no power in the universe that goes backward on the timeline. There aren’t any past problems. If something happened in the past that affected you negatively, it isn’t a past problem. It’s a right now problem and a now faith in God will always overcome now problems. Don’t wait for someday to trust God. Do it now.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I trust God’s Word now. My now faith in a now God gives me success in life now.
