Peace That Guards Your Heart

by | A Verse A Day

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

(Phil. 4:7 NASB)

Troubles come to everyone. But not everyone is destroyed by troubles. Because of our union with Jesus, God will bless us with a peace that no one can completely comprehend. This peace will control the way we think and feel, even in the middle of troubles.

The Message Bible says: Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

The peace of God provides quietness and rest to our inward man. It has a way of making us “set as one” with God in stormy waters. It’s far beyond human understanding. But God’s peace becomes a defense force that guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Both our thoughts and emotions are protected from harm in Jesus. That sure simplifies our life.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I let the peace of God have complete control over my heart and my mind today.

My Life Is Over

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Col. 3:3 KJV) If we have died with Christ and have been raised with Him, we certainly don’t have any identity of our own to preserve. All of our human efforts to embellish our standing with God or...
