Position Yourself to Receive

by Vikki Burke | Enriching Life Daily

There is another man who had a remarkable experience of receiving the transfer of wealth from the world. Second Chronicles gives us the account of Jehoshaphat becoming king in Israel and receiving an abundance of wealth. Yet, he nearly lost it all when he allied himself with the wicked king, Ahab.

His enemies were about to destroy him and all of Israel when he called out to God and led the nation in repentance. When he did, God gave him clear direction that would deliver him and Israel from destruction.

In 2 Chronicles 20:17 we read the details: “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you” (NKJV).

God said, “Position yourselves!” When we take the right position—standing in the place He tells us—we will overcome any enemy.

When Israel followed God’s instructions they saw God move and destroy those who came to destroy them. What followed is beyond imagination:

When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.
(2 Chron. 20: 25)

How many people do you suppose go to war and take along all of their jewelry and valuable? Not many. The wealth of their enemies was brought to them. All they had to do was gather it. They spent three days collecting money, precious jewelry, and other valuables.

God is still the same. He has not changed. He will lead us in ways that will bring wealth and increase to us today just like He did for Jehoshaphat and Israel. But there is an aspect that must be realized. In each of these examples, it was vitally important that they position themselves to obtain it. Abram obeyed, Isaac sowed, Jacob worked, Joseph refused to quit, and Jehoshaphat set his heart right and walked with God. The result was that God blessed what each of them set his hand to achieve.

The wealth of the world is in the world, not in church. But God will give us plans and ideas to position us for a transfer of the world’s wealth. When we pursue God’s plan to increase, He has promised to do in us just what He has done in others. God will bless what we sow and what we set our hands to do as we obey and walk with Him.

Today, God is raising up modern day testimonies of men and women who will become so abundantly rich that they can be vessels in His hand for distributing wealth and promoting the gospel. We can be one of those He uses. We must begin to meditate on God’s ability to transfer wealth to our hands, and then set our faith to receive it!
