“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge.”
Faith in God is the foundation of our relationship with Him. Without faith it is impossible to please God. God is a faith God and we are faith kids of our faith God. What God does, He does by the principles of faith.
Believing His Word, trusting He will do what He said He would do, and calling His Word true no matter how things look, are all activities that faith will do on a daily basis.
The Message Bible says: “So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding….”
Diligence in our faith walk is required of us. What is diligence? It is taking every opportunity. It is employing every effort. It is earnestly doing your best to improve your faith every day.
Diligent faith is the bottom line on which God builds the rest of our relationship. We start with faith in God, but we end up with all He has for us.
I have faith in God. I trust His Word and I put it first place in my life. I diligently look to God to add the rest of His divine characteristics to my life.
