Boast In The Cross

by | A Verse A Day

But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

(Gal. 6:14 NASB)

Because of the cross of Jesus Christ, we are dead to the world. We are no longer concerned about it and of course the world is no longer concerned about us. Our confident expression is in what Jesus has done for us through His death, burial and His resurrection.

The Message Bible says: For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate.

The world has patterns of behavior it tries to force us into. Jesus freed us from that mold and gave a pattern to be conformed to which will fulfill our joy and establish us in powerful principles for successful living.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

I don’t brag about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ and what that means to me.
