For thirty years, Jesse and I have continually sought the Lord for ways to bring this ministry to the highest level possible in order to reach more people and change more lives with the gospel. Although much has already been accomplished, we are always pressing forward to help people live a glorious life of excellence through Jesus Christ.
Excellence is defined as “of the highest or finest quality, exceptionally good of its kind. Superior.” Doesn’t that sounds exactly like the kind of life that Jesus came to give each of us? He made this extremely clear in John 10:10:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
The kind of life Jesus showed to the world was free from pain, lack, and fear, and was filled with health, prosperity, and peace. Jesus came to bring total restoration of the God-kind of life to each of us while here on earth and eternal life in heaven!
Each day, our life can be filled with His power, His joy, His peace, and His faith. In fact, 2 Peter 1:3 says that all things that pertain to life and godliness are ours today! You have a God-given potential for excellence! Never settle for mere existence, when you can have excellence!
Honor God’s Word
I believe that the first step toward living a glorious life of excellence is to make a quality decision to honor God’s Word. When you honor God’s Word, you will seek it out and desire to understand everything that God has planned for your life. God’s Word is His will revealed to us. 2 Timothy 2:5 tells us to:
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Diligent study always produces quality workers for God who are confident and full of faith. Understanding God’s Word enables us to achieve excellence in every area of life. You can have excellent health, excellent relationships, an excellent business, and an excellent spirit. Jesus came to give you a glorious, abundant, excellent life, but you will need to apply yourself and seek it out. It will not just drop into your lap.
When you commit to honor God’s Word and understand His will for your life, you will prosper. A wholehearted approach to everything that you do will always produce a life of excellence. Colossians 3:23-24 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Be determined today to develop a reputation of excellence in all that you do. Give God your best and always do your best for His glory. Don’t be concerned with those that attack your vision. Those who cut corners or have lower standards will get offended and criticize excellence.
Remember that Judas was indignant when Mary anointed Jesus’ head and feet with very costly ointment. However, Mary was not affected by his attack. She was a focused woman who was determined to do what God was directing her to do with excellence. She poured her whole heart out that day to Jesus and He was pleased (Matt. 26:12-13).
Jesus went to the cross so that we could all experience the glorious, God-kind of life. You are destined to have a life of excellence, “of the highest or finest quality of life, exceptionally good of it’s kind. Superior.” Don’t settle for mere existence when you can have excellence!
