For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
If we have died with Christ and have been raised with Him, we certainly don’t have any identity of our own to preserve. All of our human efforts to embellish our standing with God or with men can be forfeited. Too often we get in trouble trying to work things out on our own. We have a Savior. We need to learn to abide in and be hidden by His life.
The Message Bible says: Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life.
One of my continued prayers is that I am thankful that my life is over and my life is hid with Christ in God. To me, that means I no longer have to seek for success or try to impress God or man.
I can simply live each day covered by and hidden in the personality of Jesus. He takes all my cares and He resolves all my conflicts if I simply step out of the issues and let Him in. Every day I hope to be more and more like Him.
I am thankful that I no longer have to strive for identity. I am dead to my own ways and my life is hidden with Christ in God.
