“But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?”
The Message Bible says: “If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God’s love? It disappears. And you made it disappear.”
We all have a measure of this world’s goods. God expects us to be a liberal help to others with the part available to us. Often we wait for what we think we need to have before helping someone.
Earthly possessions pass away with the using, yet eternal rewards await the generous, giving soul. Let’s love others with words and deeds.
I must keep the vision of being generous and not close my heart to others around me.
